Le projet SELIO est un projet collaboratif européen visant à soutenir le développement d'un dispositif médical fiable, efficace et facile à utiliser pour réduire le risque de pneumothorax. Le pneumothorax est une complication fréquente, coûteuse et dangereuse associée à la biopsie pulmonaire transthoracique. Le Selio Sealant System, développé par Selio Medical, est un dispositif prophylactique à usage unique. Le dispositif, intégré à la norme actuelle des soins de biopsie pulmonaire, permet au clinicien de pré-sceller la voie d'accès au poumon avant la biopsie, réduisant ainsi le risque de pneumothorax.

SELIO is a European collaborative project aiming to develop a simple, easy-to-use and reliable medical device for reducing pneumothorax risks. Pneumothorax is a common, expensive, and dangerous complication associated with transthoracic lung biopsy. The Selio Sealant System, developed by Selio Medical, is a single-use prophylactic device. The device, incorporated into today's standard of lung biopsy care, allows the clinician to pre-seal the access route to the lung prior to biopsy, reducing the risk of pneumothorax.
